Welcome Spring!

Spring is arriving. We know it’s bound to come eventually right? Let’s talk about the energy of Spring. There is a natural urge to feel more energized, clear-headed, and motivated again. Great!

But, there’s one temptation we have to avoid

Often, instead of letting our bodies shift with the season, we try to push through fatigue, brain fog, and stress with more effort.

More caffeine.
More late nights.
More scrolling.

What if the real solution was actually less force and more rhythm?

Today (thanks DST) is a good day to talk about respecting your circadian rhythm - your body’s built-in clock that influences your energy, hormones, metabolism, mood, and sleep.

When we support that rhythm, our bodies often respond with better focus, steadier energy, and deeper sleep.

Let’s take it from our Whole Health perspective - mind, body and relational health.

☀️ Mind: Reset Your Mental Timing

Your brain loves predictability.

Try anchoring your day with a consistent morning cue:

  • Get outside within 30 minutes of waking

  • Take 3–5 slow breaths while facing the light

  • Ask yourself: “What matters most today?”

This helps your brain shift out of stress mode and into intentional focus.

🧬 Biochemistry: Feed Your Daytime Energy

Your metabolism also runs on rhythm.

A few supportive habits:

  • Eat protein within an hour or two of waking

  • Hydrate early (before the coffee)

  • Take a short walk after meals to support glucose balance

These small actions help stabilize insulin, cortisol, and energy levels throughout the day.

🌙 Relationships: Reconnect with Your Circadian Rhythm

We usually think of relationships as being about people. But one of the most important relationships in your life is actually with your body’s natural timing.

Your circadian rhythm is constantly communicating:

  • When to wake

  • When to eat

  • When to think deeply

  • When to rest

Instead of overriding those signals, try listening to them this week.

Notice:

  • When you naturally feel most focused

  • When your energy dips

  • When your body starts asking for sleep

Treat those signals like wisdom instead of inconvenience. When you work with your rhythms instead of against them, your body often rewards you with clarity, calm, and renewed energy.

That’s a perfect way to welcome spring!
